History of The Bahamas

I live in The Bahamas a Country of 700 Islands and Cays (Keys).If the amazing History of The Bahamas was every written for the Theater, it will be the biggest and best selling Movie of all times.
Unlike other Caribbean Territories with only one land Mass, the Bahamas Islands form an enormous Archipelago extending South East from Florida, some 590 Miles to Great Inagua, near Cape Nicholas, Haiti. The total land area is 5353 square miles, more than Jamaica, or half the area of Wales.
Most of the land is flat except for the Island called Cat Island which has the highest point 206 ft.On some islands the soil is thin, but crops can still be grown in"Banana Holes" where fertile soil resides.
Some Islands in particular Andros, there is an abundance of Fresh Water which is near the surface making this an excellent place for Farming.
